About Vision Friend Sakib Gore
Our Founder
Vision Friend Sakib Gore, the Driving force behind our mission, embarked on an extraordinary journey that began with the humblest of beginnings. Born into an agricultural household, Sakib's early education came to a halt in the 7th grade due to financial instability within his family. He had to find work where he could, leading him to labor on trucks.
In the back of those trucks, silently witnessing the Same challenges of Curable Blindness That His family Faced in His Early Childhood being faced by people in rural areas but on a much larger scale, Sakib's life took a profound turn. He encountered the heart-wrenching reality of curable blindness and refractive disorders, especially among the underprivileged. This experience ignited a purpose within him, a desire to bring light and hope to those living in the darkness of untreated eye conditions.
A heart brimming with compassion and a determination to create change, He founded Vision Friend Sakib Gore in 1992. His incredible journey from a truck laborer to a visionary leader underscores his unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of thousands. Sakib's story is a testament to the transformative power of dedication, empathy, and the unyielding belief that a brighter, more inclusive future is possible.

At Vision Friend Sakib Gore, we are on a clear mission – to provide free eye care services, raise awareness about curable blindness, and make eyewear accessible to school children, the elderly, and communities in rural areas of Maharashtra, India. Empowering Change Without Donations: Our Self-Sufficient Journey
In a world where many organizations rely on donations to fuel their missions, Vision Friend Sakib Gore takes a distinctive path. We believe in self-sufficiency as a key principle of our work. We don't accept donations, and yet, we've been able to achieve significant milestones. Sakib Gore has been for the last 32 years and still personally funds the organization, emphasizing his unwavering commitment to the cause.
Our approach goes beyond providing free eye care services, Free Eyewear, Free Cataract Surgery and raising awareness about curable blindness & Refractive Disorder. We are also committed to ensuring that our initiatives are financially sustainable. This self-sufficiency is driven by our social enterprise, Vision Friend Eyewear, which operates in urban areas. Through this endeavor, we not only make eyewear more affordable but also generate the resources needed to continue our work without the need for external funding.
The heart of our self-sufficiency lies in the belief that the impact we create should be self-sustaining. By offering quality eyewear in urban areas and utilizing a part of the proceeds to fund Free Eyewear, Free cataract surgeries, and awareness campaigns in rural regions, we've built a circle of impact that perpetuates itself. This approach is essential in our mission to make eye care accessible to all, and it underlines our commitment to efficiency and accountability.

focusing on eradicating curable blindness, we've successfully performed 56,000 free cataract surgeries. Each surgery not only restores sight but also brings joy, independence, and economic opportunities.
Our commitment to quality education and Life extends to providing a clear vision to children and individuals. We've distributed over 15 lakh Free high-Quality spectacles, enabling educational opportunities, improved productivity, and a better life.

The Vision Friend Sakib Gore Social, Research, and Experience Center stands as a groundbreaking initiative poised to become the epicenter of eye health awareness in India for the Entire World. Spanning over 36,000 square feet Designed in Timeless Roman Architecture Situated in the Heart of Badlapur, Maharashtra. It represents a unique endeavour dedicated solely to raising awareness about curable blindness and refractive disorders. At the core of this project lies my unwavering commitment to eradicating these preventable conditions through education, experience, Art Exhibitions and innovation.
This centre is a pioneering force, setting itself apart as the only one of its kind in the world. It serves as a beacon of hope and knowledge, offering comprehensive resources and immersive experiences to the public. Through interactive exhibits, state-of-the-art technologies, and engaging educational programs, visitors gain a deeper understanding of eye health and the impact of curable blindness and refractive disorders.
But beyond being a physical space, the Vision Friend Sakib Gore Social, Research and Experience Center is a place of transformation.
It's important to note that the centre is open to everyone, free of charge. I believe that access to knowledge, Awareness and resources should not be limited by financial barriers, and thus, the doors of the centre are open to all who wish to learn and contribute to our mission of creating a world where everyone has access to quality eye care.

Vision Friend Eyewear - a social enterprise
The Vision Friend Eyewear Store stands as a testament to our commitment to accessibility and affordability in eye care. For over 32 Years, I've personally sourced eyeglasses directly from manufacturers and distributors, witnessing the growing demand for eyewear, particularly in urban areas. However, I also observed a troubling trend: inflated prices, where individuals profited by selling Subpar glasses at exorbitant rates. Specially After the Surge in demand post-COVID-19 Pandemic.
According to a report by Forbes, an astonishing 2.5 billion people who require glasses are without them, with 90% residing in the developing world. Many of them lack access to affordable eyewear due to the absence of local markets.
Motivated by a desire for fairness in eyewear access, I felt compelled to create India's most affordable eyewear brand launched in 2023. Our mission is straightforward yet impactful: to ensure high-quality eyewear is within reach for everyone. Hence, we offer ready-to-wear reading glasses starting at just 9 rupees, equivalent to a mere 0.095 Swiss Francs. This initiative isn't solely a business venture; it's a social enterprise founded on the "buy one, gift one" model we not only aim for financial sustainability but also prioritize the welfare of underserved communities. It's a testament to our commitment to creating positive social impact while ensuring the viability of our enterprise
